ELDER RONDA H. RUSSELL

Ronda Harris Russell is the daughter of Clarence and Lucy Harris. Elder Russell. A native of Hampton Roads, she attended Crestwood Elementary School and later graduated from Great Bridge High School. In 1971, our First Lady met Bishop Russell and they were married in 1975. From this union, God blessed them with three children: Clarence Vernie Russell, III, Corey Vernie Russell, and Courtney Vernie Russell.

Elder Ronda Russell is a true “Lady of Excellence” and is an inspiration to our church family. She is a member and Chairperson of the MCBC Mass Choir, a supporter of the Pastor’s Aide, Minister of the Mount Carmel Praise and Worship Ministry, and teacher of the Ladies of Excellence Class.

Outside of the church, she is a very devoted mother and wife. She is a notable woman who has and continues to make many contributions not only to the church, but to the community as well. Mount Carmel is blessed to have such a woman in our family.

Ronda Russell received her BA in Sociology from Virginia State University and her certification in Early Childhood Education from Norfolk State University. She was a teacher in the Brightstar Program at Westhaven Elementary School in Portsmouth, VA until retiring in 2005.
